Survey Project Manager

MBL Land Development & Permitting Corp (“MBL”) in South Easton, MA is seeking a survey project manager who is passionate about the survey profession, has a strong technical ability, and has the leadership capabilities to obtain new and repeat work. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is ready to build a land survey presence in Massachusetts. As a team member of land survey, you will be encouraged to lead and work on a variety of survey functions that allow you to build a team, and your career.

Success will be defined by your ability to handle multiple priorities, represent MBL professionally through strong communication and relationship-building skills, as well as provide mentorship for the development of staff. Remaining flexible will be key as the job responsibilities will fluctuate with overtime and occasional out-of-town travel expected.

On Any Given Day, You'll
  • Develop scopes, cost estimates, and proposals.
  • Have direct input on the development of the survey team.
  • Network and develop relationships with clients and others in your industry.
  • Work directly with internal and external clients.
  • Support survey technicians through all aspects of the project.
  • Perform QA/QC on survey projects.
  • Adhere to OSHA and required safety practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or related field.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Massachusetts or ability to become licensed within 6 months.
  • Ability to recognize and embrace new geospatial technologies.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience.
  • 5 -10 years of diverse field/office experience in survey, performing topographic surveys, construction staking, boundary surveys, rights-of-way, and control surveys.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to walk over uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record required.
Desired Skills and Experiences
  • Proven ability to monitor project budgets to a successful outcome, oversee project teams, and meet client expectations, schedule, scope, etc.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in team environments.
  • Familiar with MDOT practices and requirements.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience.
  • Ability to take directions from numerous individuals, and channel strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to conduct effective client presentations.

Civil Engineering Project Coordinator

Our team is dedicated to delivering high- quality, sustainable, and efficient solutions for residential, commercial, and municipal projects. We specialize in navigating the complex permitting process and providing detailed engineering services to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulations. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Project Engineer to join our growing team.

Position Overview

    We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to contribute to a wide range of land development and permitting projects. This role will involve collaborating with our engineering team, clients, and contractors to manage all aspects of project execution, from initial planning through to final construction. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day engineering and permitting activities for land development projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of site plans, grading plans, drainage designs, and other engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Perform detailed engineering analyses, including hydrology, stormwater management, and utilities design.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate construction progress, identify issues, and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and staff.
  • Review and approve contractor submittals and change orders.
  • Ensure timely submission of permit applications and other regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets, identifying and addressing potential delays or cost overruns.
  • Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in land development or construction engineering.
  • Soil Evaluator preferred.
  • SWPPP Inspection experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering design, construction, and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design software.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and permitting processes in Massachusetts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • MA Driver's license required.
  • Ability to work in the office and visit project sites as necessary.
  • Background check is mandatory.
